Compounding medications for the eyes requires very specialized techniques, including a sterile lab, training, and equipment. CDRx Pharmacy is proud to be one of the very few compound pharmacies that has a full USP 795/797 and ACHC / PCAB Accredited Sterile Compounding Lab.

Utilizing autologous serum eye drops
Conventional treatments for dry eye fail to heal the top layer of cells on the cornea. In a severely dry eye, this layer can become sticky and sometimes fall off the cornea easily. Autologous serum eye drops solve this problem and are manufactured from a patient’s own blood serum and plasma. Using the patient’s own blood more closely mimics the body’s natural tears than preservative drops.
CDRx Pharmacy is the only one-stop shop in greater South Florida for patient-specific autologous serum tears, handling every step from development to formulation.
Schedule a blood draw
Patients can schedule a blood draw right at our pharmacy.
Prepare your custom serum
We centrifuge and separate the patient’s blood for preparation into autologous serum tears. In our sterile laboratory, each patient’s serum is formulated into small vials of 20%, 40%, 50% or more serum to volume.
Provide delivery and ongoing support
Frozen for storage, the final vials can then be picked up or shipped directly to the patient within 48 hours. We also follow up with each patient to provide support and ensure proper usage.
